Question of the day:
What did we all think about Monday’s MET Gala 2017 Looks!??
Let’s talk about Rihanna…

CLEARLY, Rihanna was simply untouchable (both literally and figuratively) when it came to topping the best dressed list. I mean she’s practically the queen of the MET Ball after her many years of serving up the most major avant-garde looks to ever hit the MET steps. This year was certainly no exception. Rihanna is literally the epitome of what the MET Gala stands for; a celebration of fashion and the art of fashion. She never disappoints.
Then there was Kendall Jenner, whose cheeks were out for all to see in her ever so daring La Perla gown (if it could be called that).

And of course, there was Bella entering the MET Gala in a custom Alexander Wang bodysuit.

But let’s not get caught up in the celebrity factor of FASHIONS biggest night. I think we often look at who is wearing the ensemble than the actual ensemble itself. So, in true met gala fashion we’re going to neglect the celebrity and merely celebrate the fashion and the designers behind the galas best looks!
Commes DesGarçon

This goes without saying but Commes des Garçon definitely tops our list with their incredible design of pink, red, blue and white hued floral designs that perfectly wrapped around Rihanna’s curves.
Ralph Lauren

Next up, Mr. Ralph Lauren himself who designed this effortlessly chic white gown paired with the most incredible thigh high red boots and purple veil. At first glance, we thought for sure this was the works of Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, who has a long standing relationship with model Lily Aldridge. However, to our surprise, the design by Ralph Lauren totally served the chicest avant-garde vibes of the night!
Tommy Hilfiger X Gigi Hadid

Yet another successful collaboration in our eyes between the designer and model duo, Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid, as Hadid’s look was simply stunning! Though the hair and makeup paired with the architecture of the gown was extremely reminiscent of Moschino’s latest runway, we loved the actual design and structure that went into the gown’s design! Paired with a classy up-do and bleached brows the entire look came together as pure creativity…another key element of the MET Gala.
La Perla

We must admit, La Perla’s look for Jenner was certainly avant-garde in that it was unusual, unexpected and like no other. The thong baring sheer gown draped effortlessly over the model’s slim figure.
Alexander Wang

We’re pretty sure no one quite expected Bella Hadid’s arrival at the MET to be donned in an ensemble similar to that of Catwoman (minus the latex of course)! Wang’s look was pure genius, leaving Hadid in a custom, perfectly sculpted silhouette. That takes serious craftsmanship!
Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana could truly do no wrong in our eyes! It’s no secret that we love their fun prints and classic Italian style and they certainly did not disappoint when it came to their gown for this year’s MET Gala worn by Zendaya. I mean a parrot printed dress?!?
Stella McCartney
ELLE
Another personal favorite, Stella McCartney stunningly dressed both Gisele Bundchen and Kate Hudson in chic, body sculpting gowns that were true stand outs on the MET Red Carpet.
Marchesa
ELLE

You can always count on Marchesa to craft the most beautifully detailed gown for any occasion. Just take a look at the custom Marchesa gown worn by Chrissy Teigen!

I have to say, I was disappointed with the outfits this year. It was like a mash up of people trying to look as naked as possible, as crazy as possible, or people that look good but more so, for the Oscars. Rihanna’s outfit to me wore her, Lily’s gown was nice but it looked like she was a superhero that didn’t get time to take off her costume properly. I liked Gigi’s, Stella McCartney’s, Zendaya’s and Priyanka’s outfits. I also liked the Olsen twins just because they turned up as themselves – and still looked like they were in costume!

Totally agree that the carpet was a bit disappointing and that most celebs showed by like they were going to the Oscars! But I loved Rihanna’s look haha. And very true about the Olsen twins!!! I cannot believe SJP didn’t make her appearance either!!!!
