Let’s talk about the big swan in the room.

No, seriously…the actual big pink swan gracefully perched in the center of gallery I at Skylight Clarkson Square during New York Fashion Week.

For NYFW newcomer, Giuliano Calza, the gigantic swan boat captured the #SERIOUSLYGCDS narrative that transforms the typical summer yachting club experience into a not so typical summer yachting club experience.

The made-in-Italy street wear brand ironically presented a wardrobe for the guests of a contemporary yachting club that neglected each and every strict etiquette rule and regulation associated with the luxury experience.

Rather than preppy polos and boat shoes, the GCDS girls wore extremely cropped tops, super short shorts with logo elastic waistbands and plunging V-neck bodysuits, taking the the stuffy out of yachting and making it colorfully sexy. The collection also played on the nautical vibe of boating by combining a variety of mesh and striped pieces.

Vibrantly-colored graphic tops, bottoms and accessories gracefully floated down the pink runway creating a sea of perfectly paired Italian street wear.

Oh, and did I mention that NYFW star, Teyana Taylor, closed the show in possibly my favorite look of the Spring/Summer collection.
