One of my favorite ways to transition from Summer to Fall weather here in the New Jersey/New York region is to mix highs with lows!
Because the temperature is still reaching 70 to 80 degrees, the sun is still shinning, yet there is a slight chill in the air, pairing shorts or a skirt with a long trench, sweater, jacket, etc. creates the perfect look to combat the contradicting weather.
If you’re from the East Coast, you’ll know exactly what I mean when it comes to this time of the year! In the morning it’ll be so chilly that you want to just wrap yourself in your favorite winter jacket, but then, by midday you’re drenched in sweat from over-layering.
My perfect solution = lightweight trench + tank + denim shorts + booties!
Zara Striped and Floral Shirt Dress, Madewell Denim, Turtleneck Tank (similar), Topshop Backpack
P.S. My “trench” is actually a wrap dress that I decided to turn into a flowy duster-like jacket. Have fun with your fashion!!! What’s your favorite outfit combination at the moment?!?

I absolutely love this look and those pictures are just stunning. That mini backpack is honestly what dreams are made of and that “trench” idea was so creative!
