So, I’ve pretty much fallen in love with this month’s Glossybox and here’s why!
First, let’s talk about the packaging…
They say, “It’s not what’s on the outside that matters, rather it’s what’s on the inside.” However, for Glossybox’s July issue we may need to make an exception for this one.
I mean just look at the print!!!
Covered in purple and white palm leaves over a yellow backdrop (other colors were optional as well), I didn’t even have to open the box to know that I was already in love. If you truly know me, long before the banana leaf craze took over practically every trendy Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr page, my love for all things tropical has always existed. From the white sandy beaches and crystal clear oceans to multi-colored fish and bright hibiscus flowers, my eyes and heart have always been drawn to the photos of bright orange Hawaiian sunsets peeking through the lush tropical palms. So clearly, this box was right up my alley.
THEN, I opened the box and there was skincare galore with a hint of beauty, perfect for redeeming my skin after my trip to Punta Cana.
This little bad boy has been a life savor when it comes to my face after seven days in the Dominican sun. Though I did use sunscreen on a daily basis while there (except the first day #oops), the sun was no match for the SPF formulas. So, unfortunately my face did burn, dry out and soon enough begin to peel. But unlike most moisturizers that make me break out and merely soak into the skin without moisturizing, the De Bruyère After Sun Lotion Monoï hydrated my skin and left a longer-lasting tan with it’s Tiarè flower petals that have been soaked in coconut oil.
The truffle therapy cleansing oil from Skin&Co Roma is perfect for sumer as a refreshing cleansing oil that is strong enough to remove waterproof makeup, while gently cleansing the skin. The formula is free from parabens, phthalates and mineral oils, which is perfect for those with sensitive skin to achieve perfect, healthy summer skin.
Again, another perfect summer skin remedy, La Roche-Posay’s Toleraine Purifying Foaming Cleanser gently removes impurities and reduces excess oil while helping to prevent over drying. Our skin should never feel tight after cleansing and the last thing we all want in summer is super dry skin. This cleanser works perfectly in combination with the De Bruyère After Sun Lotion Monoï.
To be honest, I haven’t quite given this product a go just yet largely because of my sensitive skin. However, for those of you with skin that rarely gets affected by anything you place on it, this balm is certainly one of the most talked about formulas to soothe the skin for summer. The product contains all of the enriching ingredients you would want out of a soothing balm with aloe, olive oil and Carica Papaya extracts blended together to nourish everything from your lips and skin to your cuticles and nails.
Let’s face it, when it comes to painting our own nails mistakes are bound to happen. I mean, I hardly paint my own nails merely for the fact that I make such a mess with the polish and when trying to clean up the excess formula, all of my hard work is instantly ruined. Therefore, I was extremely excited when I saw NCLA’s precision nail lacquer remover pen as it appears to make the stressful process of nail painting much, much easier.
As an added bonus to this month’s Glossybox, the beauty subscription brand teamed up with Doucce to create the perfect summer blush palette. The blush palette was hand-selected for all subscribers by Glossy color experts to provide the universal shade “Summer Sunset” to highlight the apples of our cheeks and leaving behind a soft, sun-kissed glow. BTW, there’s an empty spot in the go-to summer palette. But, this is no mistake. Glossybox subscribers have the ability to select a complimentary shade that they will receive next month to complete the personalized, one-of-a-kind blush compact.
