BEACH DAY ESSENTIALS

Is “summering” a proper excuse for not posting yesterday?! I sure think so!

Yesterday was such a lovely day here in New Jersey. With sunny skies and temperatures higher than 80 degrees it was too good of a beach day to pass up! Needless to say, I was in full summer mode with sunscreen on my cheeks and the bright sun kissing my skin.

For me, the beach and summer are equivalent, as spending endless days down the shore are what I live for during the hot months!

So, in honor of the first day of summer, I decided to share with you my beach day essentials! What’s on your must have list for a day at the water?!

BEACH DAY ESSENTIALS

1. Beach Bag

The Longchamp Le Pliage Backpack is our current go-to beach bag, however, we’re totally lusting over cute woven totes to keep us in style all summer long!

5. Sunnies

6. Sunscreen

DO NOT LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT IT! Take care of your skin! I especially love Banana Boat’s Sport formula as I like to be active on the beach whether that means running in and out of the water or playing a game of volleyball.

7. Zinc!

I LOVE using Zinc while at the beach for certain areas that I really do not want to burn or even tan. I typically put this on my upper lip, eyes (lids and under eye), as well as on my lips. Please note, this is nothing for consumption so please be careful if you use it! Also note, use a clear formula or else the product will be whiter than white and you’ll look semi if not very strange!

8. Entertainment

Whether it’s a radio, your headphones, a book, magazines, a kite or frisbee, if you are one to get restless on the beach…don’t forget your entertainment! I personally love brining music and magazines, but this year I’m adding two super fun games to list; Spikeball and KanJam.

9. WATER!!!

Sure there will be millions of tons of water right in front of you at the beach, but that doesn’t mean you’ll stay hydrated. This is probably the most important beach day essential, so don’t forget it. If you go threw water like it’s nothing, I strongly suggest investing in a cooler to pack loads of water with you or a S’Well bottle to keep you hydrated throughout the day.

  1. A beach day sounds wonderful. It has been over 100 degrees where I live and I am desperate to cool off. Interestingly enough, we are going on vacation soon. To the Caribbean. Where we will surely not cool off. 😛

      1. Yep, super hot. I did not mind the heat when I was younger, but now that I have a kid who is as pasty as can be, I am a little less tolerant. I can only apply super thick organic baby sunscreen so many times before losing my mind 😉

We are heading to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then hopping on a cruise to some of the southern islands. I am super excited, though praying for good weather since we are in hurricane season (zoinks!).

  2. I LOVE the blue pom pom bag!! I wouldn’t pay 44$ for it, if I’m being honest lol I’m going to buy a beach chair soon, because I love to read at the beach, both books and magazines 🙂 Great list!!
