FIVE SS17 BEAUTY TRENDS I NEED IN MY LIFE

If you know me or have even viewed any photos of myself via this blog, Instagram, Facebook, etc. then you know that when it comes to beauty and makeup, I tend to stick to one look and one look only. However, at 22 years old, I think it’s time for a change! So, I scoured the Internet for the top beauty trends that hit the SS17 runways for some inspiration and found loads of trendy…trends to update my look.

1. MAKING ME BLUSH

Harper’s Bazaar

According to designers like Chanel, Reem Acra, Adam Selman and Kenzo, tis’ the season for rosy cheeks. Whether that be a subtle hint of pink hues on the apple of my cheeks or full-blown 80’s style glam, I am definitely adding new blushers to my spring beauty bag! OK, I will more than likely stick to subtle hues, trying products other than my classic Clarin’s Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour in Sunset Coral but listen…I’m taking baby steps!

2. GLOW FOR IT

Harper’s Bazaar

It’s no secret that we all want glowing, clean and dewy skin for all seasons. However, for this spring and summer, it’s time to actually achieve it! That means taking care of my skin by drinking loads and loads of water, using healthy products and keeping myself well-moisturized. Clear, glossy skin like that on the runways of Brandon Maxwell, Lanvin, Prada and Tommy Hilfiger is at the top of my list!

3.  A POP OF COLOR

Harper’s Bazaar

This trend may be the most challenging one of all as rocking a bold lip takes a lot of confidence. Typically, I tend to highlight the natural deep color of my lips by simply by using Aquaphor, which gives my lips a lovely shine and keeps them just as moisturized throughout the entire day. However, the behind-the-scenes photographs from various runway shows is definitely tempting me to stray away from my old habits and try something new.

4. BRAIDED BABE

Harper’s Bazaar

What a chic upgrade to the classic beach hair! I cannot wait weave random braids into my wavy hair for lovely summer days by the sea!

5. RAINING GLITTER

Harper’s Bazaar

OK, so I may not have the guts to try out this trends on a daily basis, but how fun is this beauty trend!? Clearly, I would never wear such a look as an “everyday makeup look,” however, perhaps a musical festival, photo shoot or themed party may call for a glittery face.

What beauty trends are you tempted to try this spring/summer?!?!

  1. Rosy cheeks and a little bit of glow are great for me. The rest, ummmm, not so much! I’m afraid I struggle to go beyond chapstick and gloss, too lazy to braid, and the only glitter I wear is whatever has fallen off of the Christmas decorations and stuck to me. But hey, 2/5 isn’t bad… 🙂

    1. Hahah I LOVE your glitter comment! But trust me, I’m in the same boat. Only really go for a little blush, highlighter and chapstick. But, I always love a good challenge 🙂

      1. I used to like the challenges, but now I am just happy to leave my house looking mostly alive! 😛 If and when you try the glitter, I am sure you will rock it–be sure to post pictures.

  2. Just stumbled across your blog 🙂 I love bold statement lips and they can work anytime of the year – I like wearing a bold lip colour with little or no eye makeup to keep things balanced and draw attention to the lipstick x
